Ausdrill and Brandrill to make mega drilling company

AUSDRILL and Brandrill have announced a proposed merger which could create a mega mining services company.

The merge is still subject to a number of conditions, including Brandrill shareholder approval. The company’s shareholders will meet in late November 2009 to discuss the proposition.

The drilling businesses say the combination of Ausdrill's and Brandrill's complementary drilling businesses will create significant opportunities for operational synergies.

Brandrill's caters to drill and blast, exploration drilling and its DT Hi-Load truck body needs.

Whereas Ausdrill is more diverse, serving both drill and blast and exploration drilling markets as well as contract mining, plant hire, procurement and logistics, drilling tools, mining services, telecommunications, utility construction and maintenance.

Brandrill management and workforce would be integrated into the existing Ausdrill structure.
