Capital Mining plans further drilling at the Mayfield copper project

CAPITAL Mining is planning a drilling programme at the Mayfield copper project in New South Wales following the identification of an initial resource.

Capital is farming in to the project and has been managing exploration in the area since April 2009 under the Heads of Agreement with Monaro Mining.

An initial resource has been defined by Capital, at Mayfield, which is in proximity to Canberra, of 77,000 ounces of gold, 16,000 tonnes of copper and 1.2 million ounces of silver.

Capital Mining managing director Robert McCauley says the group is very encouraged by these results. The Mayfield gold and copper prospect has considerable exploration potential to add to these known resources and as such Capital is planning to commence infill and exploration drilling in the December 2009 quarter.

The planned drilling programme is designed to close up the drill spacing in the resource envelope, to test extensions along strike and at depth and to test other prospective exploration targets elsewhere in the licence.
