ENSIGN'S ADR100 drilling rig is expected to arrive at the Gilbert Gully Pilot Project, Queensland sometime in the week beginning 12 October 2009.

The rig is said to be a state-of-the-art machine capable of drilling 1000 metres into the earth for coal seam gas. It has been sent to bolster the company's involvement in the multi-billion dollar Australia Pacific LNG project.

The ADR100 will move to the Spring Gully gas field near Roma after the Gilbert Gully project.

Australia Pacific LNG Limited (APLNG) says the project will generate jobs and further investment in Queensland as well as significantly contribute to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.

APLNG is a company co-owned by Origin Energy and ConocoPhillips.
