ENERGY Resources of Australia says that the Northern Territory Government has given approval for further exploration at the Ranger uranium mine in the Kakadu National Park.

The mining company says that it has discovered another significant ore body at the mine which lies within Kakadu National Park.

Energy Resources plans to do more drilling and build a tunnel up to three kilometres long and about 300 metres underground.

The company says it will soon begin a $4 million feasibility study and if all goes to plan, work on the tunnel will begin in 2010.
