Queensland CSG explorer welcomes new rig

WESTSIDE Corporation (WCL) has received a new drilling rig to assist the company’s coal seam gas (CSG) exploration projects in Queensland.

The rig is one of the largest dedicated CSG rigs in Australia, and will help the company prove gas reserves at its pilot projects in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

WestSide CEO, Angus Karoll, says the rig will be “critical to the success” of its latest CSG project to drill efficiently and provide greater certainty.

Westside is a CSG exploration company which operates the Paranui and Tilbrook projects in QLD. Studies undertaken in 2008 have identified a number of promising exploration targets to the north of Tilbrook pilot.
