SKILLSDMC has announced an Australian network of industry skills advisors to enhance workforce performance.
SkillsDMC is the national Industry Skills Council for the drilling, mining, quarrying and civil infrastructure sectors.
The advisory group will work in partnership with the resources and infrastructure sectors and state governments.
Des Caulfield, Chief Executive Officer, SkillsDMC says the Council has assigned industry skills advisors to each state and the Northern Territory to ensure it has an on-the-ground presence to address the workforce issues affecting the industry.
The team of advisors will provide hands-on support, tools and expertise to help employers develop their organisation into a high-performance workforce.
Caulfield claims now more than ever, organisations need a highly productive and efficient workforce. Using planning tools, such as Future Workforce Manager and Skills Maximiser, each of its advisors will work with enterprises to assess and identify workforce needs now and in the future.
Caulfield says reports will be compiled to provide organisations with a snapshot of their workforce and pinpoint skills areas in need of attention. It is believed that a clear picture of the organisation’s capacity and capability, businesses will be able to improve productivity, performance and their long-term profitability.
SkillsDMC says the ‘industry intelligence’ can be aggregated at state and national levels, allowing training places to be fairly allocated through the Federal Government’s Productivity Places Program and close skills gaps.
