Students urged to apply for 2009 Atlas Copco scholarship

AUSTRALIAN Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) student members are being encouraged to apply for the 2009 Atlas Copco scholarship program.

The winner will spend one week working in Australia, followed by two weeks with the company’s R&D division in Sweden.

The scholarship participant will visit a number of Swedish mines to experience the company’s international operations and present a paper outlining their experiences.

The scholarship is open to all Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinean AusIMM student members who are in their penultimate or final year of a recognised minerals-related course.

Applications are open until 27 March 2009, and appropriate forms can be attained from company’s website.

Atlas Copco is a leading provider of compressed air and gas equipment, generators, industrial tools and assembly systems for the Australian mining industry.
