WESTGOLD Resources says that is set to further exploration and drilling work in 2010 at its Rover 1 Project in the Northern Territory.

The news follows the completion of a $22 million capital raising through a share placement.

Company secretary Andrew Chapman says the completion of the placement will ensure that the group will be in a strong financial position going forward.

Westgold Resources says it is pleased that its major shareholder, Metals X, continues to support the company and further vindicates the exploration strategy.

Recent results from the Rover 1 Project have identified three highly significant gold and copper zones providing significant scope of the Jupiter Zone for a near term increase to the resource potential of this known high grade gold and copper mineralisation and an unexpected new discovery - Southern Zone - located approximately 100m south of the Jupiter Zone in the hanging wall and at depth.
